NightRelay Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 10, 2026
NightRelay is provided by Le Nguyen for adult caregivers. This policy covers the iPhone app and explains the data used to keep your household's care records and handoffs in sync.
Your care records
The app stores the baby's first name or nickname, caregiver names, care events and times, bottle amounts you enter, sleep times, diaper records, free-text notes, corrections, the shared night plan, caregiver agreements, and handoff history. Notes may contain sensitive information you choose to write. Use a nickname and only include information you want your invited caregiver to see.
On-device storage and private iCloud sharing
NightRelay saves a local copy on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection. Shared households use Apple's CloudKit private and shared databases, linked to the caregivers' own iCloud accounts. The app uses a CloudKit user identifier to associate actions with the correct caregiver. Care records are not stored in a public CloudKit database or sent to a developer-operated care-data server.
Your invited caregiver receives access to the shared household. Only invite someone you trust. Cloud availability depends on Apple, your iCloud account, network connection and storage. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy. The developer does not have access to your private CloudKit household records through the developer console.
Purchases and household access
Apple processes purchases and payment information. NightRelay uses StoreKit to verify transactions, check product identifiers, expiry, renewal/grace-period status and revocation, and restore access. A household UUID may be sent to Apple as the purchase's account token. Verified product identifiers and access-expiry dates are saved in the private household record so both caregivers can use the plan. We do not receive your payment card details.
No advertising or tracking SDKs
The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, third-party AI service, HealthKit integration, or location collection. It does not request camera, microphone, contacts or photo-library access. Apple's platform diagnostics and App Store services follow Apple's policies and your device settings.
Exports and support
Exports are created locally. If you choose to share an export, the recipient and destination service receive its contents and apply their own privacy practices. An export includes care records, correction history, plans, handoffs, and pending local changes. Treat it as private family information.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send so we can respond. Avoid including sensitive care records or account passwords. The plenguyen.com website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process standard request and security information when you visit these pages. The app does not embed website analytics.
Retention and deletion
Care records remain until you delete the household or clear local data. NightRelay does not automatically delete care history after a trial or subscription ends. Local application-support records are marked to be excluded from device backups; iCloud stores the shared household separately. Temporary cloud-upload files are removed after the operation completes.
The owner can delete the entire cloud household in Household. Either caregiver can clear their iPhone's local copy; the owner controls invitations and revocation in Apple's sharing sheet. Clearing local data removes unsynced changes from that phone. Deletion cannot erase exports or copies already held by another caregiver. Canceling a subscription is separate from deleting data.
Children's information
NightRelay is intended for adults, not for children to operate or create accounts. Adults may record information about a baby they care for. This information stays in the local/private shared household described above and is not used by the developer for profiling, advertising or sale.
Your choices and contact
You can use a nickname, omit optional amounts or notes, review sharing access, export your records, clear local data or delete an owner-created household. Contact lnguyen@plnguyen.com with privacy questions or requests concerning information you have sent directly to support. We cannot retrieve private iCloud records for you.
Changes to this policy
Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date. Material changes should be reviewed before continuing to use the affected service.
