SplitJoy Terms of Use (EULA)
Effective date: September 30, 2026
These terms govern your use of SplitJoy, an iPhone and iPad app for organizing shared expenses and settlement estimates. By downloading or using SplitJoy, you agree to these terms and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
1. License
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SplitJoy on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to the App Store terms and these terms.
2. App Purpose
SplitJoy helps you record expenses, assign items or activities to participants, calculate balances, and prepare settlement summaries. It does not transfer money, verify that a payment occurred, or provide financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
3. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing receipt recognition, participant assignments, totals, taxes, tips, currencies, exchange rates, and settlement results before relying on or sharing them. Receipt recognition and calculations may contain errors, and user-entered exchange rates are estimates.
4. SplitJoy Pro Subscriptions
- SplitJoy Pro removes usage limits for trips, participants, expenses, and quick splits while the subscription is active.
- Monthly and yearly plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. The price and billing period shown by the App Store before purchase apply to you.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Use Restore Purchases in SplitJoy to restore eligible access with the same Apple ID.
- Apple handles purchase processing and refund decisions under its policies.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, use it unlawfully, attempt to bypass purchase controls, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law permits.
6. Privacy
Your use of SplitJoy is also governed by the SplitJoy Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services
SplitJoy relies on Apple system frameworks and StoreKit. If you share a summary or PDF, the destination service is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
8. No Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SplitJoy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of receipt recognition, calculations, currency estimates, or user-entered information.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by inaccurate entries, calculations, exchange rates, settlements, exports, or inability to use the app.
10. Termination
You may stop using SplitJoy at any time by deleting it. Your rights under these terms end automatically if you fail to comply with them.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Updated terms will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
