PhotoDeDupe Terms of Use

License

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PhotoDeDupe on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, subject to these terms and the applicable App Store terms.

App Purpose

PhotoDeDupe is intended to help you find and remove duplicate photos and videos in your Photos library. It is a planning and organization tool only. It does not modify your photo library on its own and never deletes anything without going through the iOS Photos delete confirmation.

Compatible Hardware and Platform Limits

Some features depend on Photos library access, Vision framework support, and on-device AI capabilities such as Foundation Models. PhotoDeDupe may offer different functionality depending on your device model, operating system version, and Apple platform capabilities.

Purchases, Subscriptions, and PhotoDeDupe Pro

• PhotoDeDupe may offer weekly, yearly, and lifetime Pro options through the App Store.
• Weekly and yearly plans are auto-renewable subscriptions unless canceled before renewal.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when Apple confirms the purchase.
• Subscription management and cancellation are handled in your Apple Account settings.
• Prices may vary by storefront, taxes, exchange rate, and App Store pricing changes.
• Lifetime access is a one-time purchase for the app as made available at the time of purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its media-services and App Store policies.

Free Scan Access

PhotoDeDupe may allow a limited number of free Smart AI Scans before asking you to upgrade. Free scans, trial availability, AI feature access, and product offerings may change over time.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the photos, videos, and selections you remove using PhotoDeDupe.

• Review duplicate groups and the “keeper” selection before confirming a delete.
• Confirm the iOS Photos delete prompt only after you are sure of your selection.
• Keep your own backups (iCloud Photos, external) for anything you cannot afford to lose.
• Empty Recently Deleted in Photos when you want to reclaim storage immediately.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use PhotoDeDupe for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
• Interfere with the app, reverse engineer it, or attempt to extract source code except where law allows.
• Misrepresent PhotoDeDupe results as a guaranteed forensic or legal duplicate determination.
• Use the app in a way that violates Apple platform rules or third-party rights.

Detection Disclaimer

Duplicate matches, AI verification, quality scores, and recoverable-storage estimates are produced by automated on-device algorithms and are best-effort, not guaranteed. Results may vary based on image content, sensitivity setting, device capability, and library state.

Photos Library and Your Content

PhotoDeDupe reads your Photos library to compute fingerprints and produce duplicate groups. You remain the owner of your photos and videos. The app does not upload, copy, or transmit your media. Removal requests are sent to the iOS Photos system, which performs the actual delete after your confirmation.

Privacy

Your use of PhotoDeDupe is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

Apple Standard EULA

If required by App Store review or in territories where Apple's standard terms apply, the app is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

No Warranty

PhotoDeDupe is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. No warranty is made that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every duplicate in every library will be detected.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Le Nguyen is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the app, reliance on duplicate detection, deletion decisions, or inability to access features.

Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. You may stop using PhotoDeDupe at any time by deleting it from your device. Your rights under these terms may terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Updated terms will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of PhotoDeDupe after the updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
