Budget Expense: Receipt Log — Privacy Policy

Your records
Budget Expense: Receipt Log stores your ledger, receipts, inventory items, warranty dates and settings locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives these records, and we do not collect your ledger or receipt data.
Receipt recognition and Apple Intelligence
Receipt text recognition uses Apple's Vision framework on your device. On supported devices, when Apple Intelligence is available, Apple's Foundation Models framework can assist with invoice item associations and merchant text. Local OCR remains available when that assistance is unavailable. Receipt images and recognized text are not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other external AI service. Recognition can produce errors; review the results before saving.
Camera and photo access
Camera permission is used to photograph receipts. The system photo picker lets you select an image to import. Draft images remain until you discard or replace the draft. Saved receipt images are retained with expenses as proof of purchase and are included in backup files you choose to export. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.
Exports and backup files
You decide when to export or share CSV/PDF reports and backup files. You also select the destination, which can include iCloud Drive or another Files provider. That destination may retain a copy under its own policy. The app does not automatically sync your ledger or upload it to our servers. Apple may process an iCloud account-status check; no ledger data is provided by that check.
Local notifications
Daily and warranty notifications are scheduled locally through Apple's UserNotifications framework. Permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.
Apple purchases
Monthly, yearly and lifetime Pro purchases are handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes billing and may provide purchase-entitlement information to the app. We do not receive your card details. Apple's policies govern its payment services. Restore Purchases checks your Apple Account's eligible purchases.
Advertising and diagnostics
The app contains no advertising, advertising SDK, tracking prompt or third-party analytics SDK. Apple may receive diagnostics through system services if you enable analytics sharing. We do not independently send your financial records with those diagnostics.
Deleting records
Delete individual records in the app, or uninstall it to remove local app data. Exported copies may remain at destinations you previously chose; manage those copies separately. Keep a backup if you want to retain your records before removing the app.
Children and contacting support
The app is intended for personal expense and inventory tracking and is not directed at children under 13. Contact support at lnguyen@plnguyen.com with privacy questions. If you send a support email, your email provider and our inbox process the information you choose to include. Avoid attaching sensitive receipts unless necessary.
Policy updates
Future changes to this policy will be reflected by an updated date. No cloud AI, advertising, tips or automatic cloud ledger sync is offered in version 1.1.
