StudyRealm Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 3, 2026
StudyRealm is a silent study timer and planner for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Summary
- Works offline first: Core study data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- Account optional: You can use the core app without creating an account.
- No ads: StudyRealm does not show third-party advertising.
- Optional cloud features: If you sign in or enable sync, some account and study data may be synced through Firebase services.
Data the App Uses
- Study data: Subjects, topics, study sessions, streaks, badges, planner items, and settings are stored locally on your device so the app can function offline.
- Account information (optional): If you choose to sign in, the app may process identifiers such as your Firebase user ID, email address, and display name.
- Subscription status: Premium purchase status is verified through Apple StoreKit so premium features can be unlocked.
- Diagnostics and analytics: If configured in production, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may process app interaction events, crash diagnostics, and performance data.
- Notification preferences: If you enable reminders, the app stores your notification settings and schedules local notifications on your device.
- Focus Mode selections (optional): If you use the premium app blocker, the app stores your selected apps or categories locally so Screen Time shielding can run during study sessions.
How Data Is Used
- To run timers, planners, streaks, widgets, Live Activities, and progress tracking.
- To save your preferences and keep your study history available offline.
- To sync your data across devices if you choose to sign in and use sync features.
- To validate subscriptions and restore premium purchases.
- To improve app stability, performance, and product quality through diagnostics when enabled.
On-Device Storage and Processing
StudyRealm is designed to work offline first. Your study sessions, subjects, plans, streaks, and many other app records are stored on your device first. The app remains usable without a network connection.
Cloud Sync and Authentication
If you choose to sign in or use sync-enabled features, StudyRealm may sync app data through Firebase services. Depending on your setup, this may include account identifiers, profile information, subjects, topics, study sessions, badges, daily summaries, and related settings.
If you do not sign in, the app can still be used locally without cloud sync.
Subscriptions and Payments
StudyRealm Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment card information.
Advertising and Tracking
StudyRealm does not include third-party ads. If an App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown, it is only to request permission for analytics or measurement features that may rely on Apple-provided identifiers in the production app configuration. You can change your tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings.
Notifications, Widgets, and Live Activities
If you enable reminders, widgets, or Live Activities, StudyRealm may store limited study summary values and timer state on your device so these features can update correctly. This data is used only for app functionality.
Screen Time / Focus Mode Features
If you enable premium Focus Mode app blocking, StudyRealm uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls APIs to apply shields to the apps or categories you selected. Your selected items are stored locally for this feature to work. StudyRealm does not sell or use this information for advertising.
Data Export and Deletion
- You can export your study data from inside the app when export features are available to your tier.
- You can delete local app data from within the app where supported.
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
Third-Party Services
StudyRealm may rely on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Apple iOS frameworks, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, and Screen Time APIs
- Apple App Store / StoreKit for subscriptions and purchase restoration
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Firestore
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Remote Config
Children's Privacy
