PawGuard Terms of Use (EULA)
Effective date: April 14, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of PawGuard, an iOS app for organizing pet ingredient watchlists, scanning package labels, and saving product information for later reference. By downloading, accessing, or using PawGuard, you agree to these terms.
1. License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PawGuard on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service and these terms.
2. App Purpose
PawGuard is designed to help pet owners organize ingredient watchlists, scan package labels, and save product records for later review. The app compares detected label text with the ingredients you save for each pet and does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, product recommendations, or emergency care.
3. Subscriptions and Purchases
- PawGuard Monthly: one-month auto-renewable subscription that provides unlimited ingredient scans, an ad-free experience, and access to premium features during each subscription period.
- PawGuard Lifetime: one-time purchase that provides unlimited ingredient scans, an ad-free experience, and access to premium features for the lifetime of the app.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple media services policies.
- If premium access does not unlock correctly, use the Restore Purchases feature in the app while signed in to the Apple ID that completed the purchase.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the app or related services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law.
- Misrepresent scan results, saved lists, or product records as professional veterinary advice.
5. Ingredient Review Disclaimer
PawGuard does not determine whether a product is appropriate for your pet. Ingredient labels may be incomplete, inaccurate, or changed by manufacturers. OCR and saved ingredient matching may miss, misread, or misclassify information. Always review packaging directly and consult a qualified veterinarian for diagnosis, treatment, and urgent medical concerns.
6. Privacy
Your use of PawGuard is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services
PawGuard may rely on Apple system services, StoreKit, and optional third-party services such as Google Mobile Ads or optional AI providers enabled by the user. Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
PawGuard is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or accuracy of ingredient detection, OCR output, or saved product records.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on scan results, saved product information, backup/export actions, or inability to use the app.
10. Termination
These terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. Your rights under these terms terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
