NumJam Privacy Policy

NumJam: The Musical Calculator is an iOS and iPadOS app that combines calculator input with musical note playback, instrument sounds, and optional MiniPlay recordings. This policy explains what data the app stores, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Summary
- No account required: NumJam does not require sign-in and does not create a user profile.
- Data stays on device: Calculator state, sound settings, recordings, and app preferences are stored locally.
- No third-party analytics or ads: NumJam does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
- Purchases handled by Apple: Subscription and lifetime purchase transactions are processed by Apple through StoreKit.
- Recordings are user controlled: MiniPlay recordings are created only when you start recording.
Data Stored on Device
- Calculator state: Current calculator entries, selected layouts, and local display state used to run the app.
- Sound settings: Selected instrument, mute status, volume, reverb, and note badge preference.
- MiniPlay recordings: If you record, the app stores the sequence of key presses, timing, calculator type, and selected instruments needed for playback.
- Trial and purchase state: Local trial timing and StoreKit entitlement status used to unlock Pro features.
How Data Is Used
- To provide calculator functions and musical note playback.
- To remember your sound and display preferences across launches.
- To save and replay MiniPlay recordings you create.
- To determine whether Pro features such as Scientific Calculator, full instruments, and recording tools are unlocked.
No Account Required
NumJam does not require account creation, login, or profile setup. We do not maintain a user account for you on our servers.
No Analytics, Ads, or Tracking
NumJam does not include third-party analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information.
Purchases and Subscriptions
If you purchase NumJam Pro, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your full payment information. Subscription status, renewals, cancellation, refunds, and restore purchases are handled by Apple.
Third-Party Services
NumJam relies on Apple platform services that may process limited data under Apple's own terms and privacy policy:
- Apple iOS and iPadOS system frameworks for audio playback, local storage, and app settings
- Apple App Store / StoreKit for purchases, subscriptions, free trials, and restore purchases
Your Choices
- You can mute app sound from the calculator header.
- You can disable note badges in Settings. Note badges are off by default.
- You can delete local recordings from the Recordings tab where available.
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
Children's Privacy
NumJam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
