Budget Expense Inventory Log is an iOS app for tracking spending, scanning receipts, and generating expense insights. This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Summary

• No account required: You can use the app without creating an account.
• On-device storage: Expense records, settings, and receipt data are stored locally on your device.
• On-device OCR and AI (free tier): Receipt OCR and supported on-device AI parsing run on your device.
• Optional cloud AI (Pro): If cloud receipt refinement is used, receipt text may be sent to a backend AI service.
• Ads (free tier): If ads are shown, ad providers may process device and ad interaction data.

Data the App Uses

• Expense data: Amount, category, date, note, and optional tax or line-item details you enter or confirm.
• Receipt data (optional): Receipt images, extracted OCR text, and parsed line items for receipt-based logging.
• Settings: Currency, budget values, reminder preferences, onboarding status, and streak/progress data.
• Purchase state: Pro ownership and purchase entitlements provided by Apple StoreKit.
• Diagnostics (optional): If you choose to share analytics or crash reports with Apple, Apple may provide aggregated diagnostics to improve stability.

How Data Is Used

• To log, organize, and display your expenses and insights.
• To scan receipts and extract structured expense information.
• To remember your app preferences and reminder settings.
• To verify purchases and unlock Pro features.
• To improve reliability and performance based on available diagnostics.

Receipt OCR and AI Processing

Receipt OCR uses Apple Vision on-device. The free extraction path can use on-device Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models on supported devices.

If you use cloud AI receipt refinement (Pro feature), receipt text may be sent securely to a backend service for processing. That backend may use third-party AI providers (for example, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) according to their terms and privacy policies.

Advertising (If Enabled)

The free tier may display ads using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ad providers may process data such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, and diagnostics for ad delivery and measurement.

If you are shown an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, your choice controls whether specific identifiers (such as the advertising identifier) may be used for tracking. You can change this in iOS Settings at any time.

In-App Purchases and Tips

Pro unlocks and optional tips are processed by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. You can change or disable notification permissions in iOS Settings.

Export and Sharing

When you export CSV or PDF files and share them through the iOS share sheet, those files are handled by the destination app or service under its own privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

Budget Expense Inventory Log may rely on the following services that process data under their own policies:

• Apple iOS frameworks (Vision, notifications, local storage, optional diagnostics)
• Apple App Store / StoreKit (distribution, purchases, restore flow)
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) (if ads are enabled)
• Cloud AI backend/providers (only when cloud AI extraction is used)

Your Choices

• You can use manual logging instead of receipt scanning.
• You can disable notifications and adjust tracking preferences in iOS Settings.
• You can restore purchases through the app if needed.
• You can delete entries or delete the app to remove locally stored app data.

Children's Privacy

Budget Expense Inventory Log is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
